Notice of Presbytery Meeting
The next Stated Meeting of the Sacramento Presbytery will be held on
Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at First Presbyterian Church, Marysville.
Call to Presbytery, docket and the GA Nomination form follow this message.
Please submit any material to be included in the Presbytery Packet no later
than Friday, November 17, in writing to Elizabeth Groelle, Stated Clerk,
9985 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento CA 95827-1405.
General Assembly Nomination forms are due by November 20, at the Sierra Mission

The next stated meeting of the Presbytery of Sacramento will be on Tuesday,
November 28, 2000 at First Presbyterian Church, 1940 Freeman St.,
Marysville. The phone number there is (530) 742-5541. Please refer to the
map for directions to the church.
As you can see from the attached docket, this is to be a very special
meeting. We will be meeting with a church that is celebrating 150 years of
continuous service to the Presbyterian community in the Sacramento Valley.
We will be welcoming and hearing from The Rev. Dr. Syngman Rhee, the
Moderator of the 212th General Assembly. We will be electing commissioners
to the 213th General Assembly. And, we will be installing our own Moderator
for the 2001 year.
Other important items on the docket include meeting and approving three men
requesting to move from Inquirer to Candidate, as well as approving several
pastoral calls. The Committee on Ministry will also be presenting the
Sexual Misconduct Prevention Policy for its final reading and the vote of
those assembled. Jan Willett, our Westcoast representative of the Board of
Pensions, will be present and available to bring you up to date on the
latest changes in benefit plans.
The Philippine Partnership Task Force will have a box available at the
Presbytery meeting and at the Sierra Mission Partnership office to collect
Ecclesiastical and Theological books to send to the Philippines. This
appears to be one of the greatest deprivations in the ministry in that
country. The task force believes that ministers and churches probably have
books in their libraries that are not being using and could contribute to
our pastors/partners in the Philippines.
From I-5 or 99 South, Take Hwy 20 East through Yuba City. Follow directions below.
From Sacramento, North on I-5. Take Hwy 99/70 north exit (just past Arco
Arena). Follow signs to Marysville/Hwy 70. Through downtown section, join
Hwy 20 (right turn), Follow Hwy 20 signs onto 12th St., turn left onto
Sampson St., and straight ahead to Rideout Way. Church is on the corner of
Sampson and Rideout.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY NOMINATION
Commissioners to the meeting of the 213th General Assembly in Louisville,
KY, June 9-16, 2001, will be elected by the Presbytery of Sacramento at the
Stated Meeting on November 28, 2000. At that time we will elect two elders,
two ministers, and one Youth Advisory Delegate (YAD)
. In order to have the nominees' names listed on the ballot at Presbytery the nominations must be
received by the clerk on or before November 20, 2000. Please use this form,
or submit the same information on another piece of paper. Return your
nomination to the Stated Clerk at the Sierra Mission Partnership Office,
