Notice of Presbytery Meeting
The next stated meeting of the Presbytery of Sacramento will be on Saturday, April 15, 2000 at the Woodland Presbyterian Church, 1324 Columbia Drive, Woodland. The phone number there is 530-662-5254.
Directions: The church is on the northeast corner of Gibson and County Road 98. From the north on 15, take the CR 98 (E16 west) offramp and go south about 3 miles to the flashing red light at Gibson. The church will be on your left. From Sacramento and points east, take the County Road 102 offramp, turn left and go about I mile to Gibson. Turn right and go all the way through town. Columbia comes several blocks after the hospital area. Turn right, then left into the church parking lot.
Child Care: If you need childcare, call the church before Monday, April 10
Docket: The proposed docket for this meeting will be found below. For those who are interested, there will be an orientation for new commissioners at 9:00am prior to the opening events.
In keeping with the Presbyterys plan for highlighting one of the three ministry areas at each presbytery meeting, Virstan Choy, professor at San Francisco Theological Seminary will lead us in the exploration of Congregations in Ministry and Mission. Come prepared to share the good news of YOUR congregations successes in these areas and, at the same time, get some new ideas to take back with you.
At this meeting we will also be commissioning the Commissioners to the 212th General Assembly, which will be held in Long Beach from June 24 to July 1. We will be voting on the proposed amendments sent to the presbyteries from the 211 th GA. We will be welcoming Howell Tumlin, Western Regional Director of the Medical Benevolence Foundation, who will bring us a message at worship time.
Please note: If you have something you wish to bring before the commissioners, your announcements, reports, or papers should be printed and in our hands before April 12 to be included in the packets. You will be given time for a brief mention of them at announcement time. There will not be time for non-action, verbal announcements.
